Finding a way that Works
If you've been playing along at home, you know that I need to get a bunch of FireWarriors painted up. I've been working on various methods of getting them all painted. Last week, I tried painting a squad up in a batch while it was still attached to the sprue. It worked pretty well, but I had a hard time getting motivated to do the painting. Since I didn't really see the results of the work until I was completely done. When I did sit down to paint, it went quickly and I was pleased with the result. I felt I needed to find another way to keep motivated and get my painting done, so I decided to try a new tactic.

Trying a New TacticI wanted to try something that would let me see results sooner than waiting for 12 models to be painted. I still wanted the convenience of on-sprue painting. So, I decided to try the on-sprue painting method, but focus on a single model at a time. I would apply each step in order to the model as before, but I'd do only one model at a time. That would allow me to see my results quickly, and each step would be very fast.

I was hoping that seeing the results quickly and having very quick steps would keep me motivated to paint and thus I'd get a lot more painted than before. My week was very busy, but realistically, it wasn't any busier than last week. Last week I got 12 FireWarriors finished. This week I got 1 done. One. Uno. Eins. The loneliest number. I might have been able to get another one or two finished if I'd spent as much time painting as I did last week. However, this was supposed to motivate me, and it obviously did not work.

I'm going back to the batch method of on-sprue painting for the rest of my FireWarriors. I want to get these done quickly, and apparently the individual method just won't work for me.
